TODAY cancels Halloween plaza party due to Sandy

Updated 10/30: TODAY has canceled Wednesday's Halloween party on the plaza due to the effects from superstorm Sandy.

Please stay safe! We love when fans stop by our plaza, but no need to jeopardize your health. Avoid traveling in Manhattan unless it's an emergency until further notice by city officials.

The day is wrong is in your halloween image. Oct 31st is on a Wednesday not a Monday.

I hope the Today show anchors still dress up! I love seeing the creativity every year. That said, I understand there are many more pressing issues in the area.

Thank you TODAY show crew and anchors for this important broadcast. We in the rest of the country are united with you all in the New York, New Jersey areas and the others who are suffering through this critical and challenging time. To the anchors of the TODAY show, you will bring us clarity and comfort, helping us to stay informed and yes, even making us smile this Halloween - the one Halloween the whole country will never forget! God bless you all.

Please reschedule the event. Don't let Sandy take away something else from the kids and others who participate. Lots of New Yorkers and surrounding areas have worked a LONG time to get their costumes ready for your annual event. I look forward to your Halloween event every year.

I hope that you can reschedule your annual Halloween event. As there are many New Yorkers and surrounding areas that have worked on their costumes for weeks. It is something we watch every year. I hope you will reconsider.
